Police Report 2/02 - 2/08

When a life might be at risk, Port Allegany Police help out in another borough where there is no police force, temporarily filling in for Pennsylvania State Police. Such an occasion arose in the week that began Monday, February 2 and ended Sunday, February 8.

Last Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Chief Dave Distrola received a call expressing concern for a former employee who recently had quit a job. Concern was based on a statement made by the individual when resigning. Distrola was unable to locate the individual.

At 11:25 a.m. Distrola received a call about a parking issue related to snow removal on Maple Street. The vehicle owner was identified and then was contacted by the caller.

At 4:50 p.m. Officer Tony Tanner received a complaint about an erratic driver on Route 6 at the entrance to the borough. Tanner located the vehicle and found the driver apparently normal. No violation was observed within the borough.

Last Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Distrola was called about an altercation at the Port Allegany Junior-Senior High School. A female juvenile allegedly attacked another female juvenile. The alleged victim suffered a head injury, said to be a possible concussion. Charges will be filed.

At 5:15 p.m. Tanner assisted PSP at Sheetz in connection with a reported violation of a protection from abuse order (PFA).

At 5:34 p.m. Tanner responded to a PSP call for assistance with a mental health issue in Eldred. Tanner discovered the subject walking on Main Street and held the individual until PSP arrived. The subject was said to have expressed suicidal intentions and to have claimed to possess a knife.

Thursday at 10:35 a.m. Distrola received a complaint about a snow issue on Ann Street. The caller was advised to discuss the matter with the neighbor, because it is not a criminal issue.

At 3 p.m. someone else called Distrola about a snow-related issue on North Main Street. Again, Distrola advised discussion with the neighbor, for the same reason.

Friday at 8:05 a.m. Distrola received a complaint about an incident that was said to have occurred on a school bus. The complainant was directed to PSP because the incident had occurred in the Grimes area.

At 11:05 a.m. Distrola received a request to deliver a message to a residence at the county line on Route 6 East. Distrola advised the caller to contact PSP.

Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Officer Adam Dickerson received a complaint concerning a possible statutory sexual assault said to have occurred in September of 2014. Charges are pending further investigation.

Sunday at 3 a.m. Dickerson responded to a report of a domestic dispute on Roper Road. It turned out that the dispute was verbal in nature. No charges will be filed.
