When a life might be at risk, Port
Allegany Police help out in another borough where there is no police force,
temporarily filling in for Pennsylvania State Police. Such an occasion arose in
the week that began Monday, February 2 and ended Sunday, February 8.
Last Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Chief Dave
Distrola received a call expressing concern for a former employee who recently
had quit a job. Concern was based on a statement made by the individual when
resigning. Distrola was unable to locate the individual.
At 11:25 a.m. Distrola received a call
about a parking issue related to snow removal on Maple Street. The vehicle
owner was identified and then was contacted by the caller.
At 4:50 p.m. Officer Tony Tanner
received a complaint about an erratic driver on Route 6 at the entrance to the
borough. Tanner located the vehicle and found the driver apparently normal. No
violation was observed within the borough.
Last Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. Distrola
was called about an altercation at the Port Allegany Junior-Senior High School.
A female juvenile allegedly attacked another female juvenile. The alleged
victim suffered a head injury, said to be a possible concussion. Charges will
be filed.
At 5:15 p.m. Tanner assisted PSP at
Sheetz in connection with a reported violation of a protection from abuse order
(PFA).
At 5:34 p.m. Tanner responded to a PSP
call for assistance with a mental health issue in Eldred. Tanner discovered the
subject walking on Main Street and held the individual until PSP arrived. The
subject was said to have expressed suicidal intentions and to have claimed to
possess a knife.
Thursday at 10:35 a.m. Distrola
received a complaint about a snow issue on Ann Street. The caller was advised
to discuss the matter with the neighbor, because it is not a criminal issue.
At 3 p.m. someone else called Distrola
about a snow-related issue on North Main Street. Again, Distrola advised
discussion with the neighbor, for the same reason.
Friday at 8:05 a.m. Distrola received a
complaint about an incident that was said to have occurred on a school bus. The
complainant was directed to PSP because the incident had occurred in the Grimes
area.
At 11:05 a.m. Distrola received a
request to deliver a message to a residence at the county line on Route 6 East.
Distrola advised the caller to contact PSP.
Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Officer Adam
Dickerson received a complaint concerning a possible statutory sexual assault
said to have occurred in September of 2014. Charges are pending further
investigation.
Sunday at 3 a.m. Dickerson responded to
a report of a domestic dispute on Roper Road. It turned out that the dispute
was verbal in nature. No charges will be filed.
