Congratulations Bobbi

Bobbi Bockoras welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world April 29, 2013.

Lyla Elaine weighed in at 7lbs, 10ozs. and was 21.5 inches long.  She joins her brother, RJ.

Maternal Grandparents are Dave and Barb Bockoras of Port Allegany, PA.

Maternal Great-grandparents are Jerry and Kitty Patton of Port Allegany, PA.

Erica (Bidwell) and Kyle Babcock of Shinglehouse, PA are pleased to announce the arrival of
Landyn Lloyd Babcock who was born on April 28th at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Landyn weighed 8lbs. and 4.5 ounces.  He joins his brother Brayden.

Emily Anne (Nelson) and Barron Joel Snyder of Port Allegany, PA are pleased to announce the arrival of Hunter Stephen Snyder who was born on April 28th at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital.  Hunter weighed 7lbs. and .07 ounces.

Carolyn Yvonne "Boots" Sturdevant, 4-H Leader



Carolyn Yvonne "Boots" Sturdevant, 71, of Port Allegany, died Saturday (April 27, 2013) at The Pavilion at BRMC. Bradford.

She was born January 19, 1942 in Port Allegany, a daughter of Harry Adelbert and June Avonlea Hess Tarbox. On September 27, 1969, in the United Methodist Church of Smethport, she married Wayne Eugene "Tom" Sturdevant, who died February 24, 1999.

Mrs. Sturdevant attended Smethport schools and was a housewife tending to the needs of her family.

Carolyn was a 4-H leader for 30 years in McKean County. She was a past organizational leader in the Lucky Horseshoes club of Port Allegany, and she loved animals of all types. She enjoyed camping and crafting. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Smethport.

She is survived by
two daughters: Julia A. Sturdevant and Christa L. (David) Vogan, both of Port Allegany, PA
one son: David S. (Karie) Sturdevant of Kannapolis, NC
one sister: Janice L. Willey of Anderson, IN
a grandson, Zachery D. Sturdevant, and a granddaughter, Annabelle C. Sturdevant, both of Kannapolis, NC
sister-in-laws: Veronica Silfies of Clermont, PA and Juanita Bisnett of Crosby, PA, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Elaine Tarbox.

Visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 P.M., at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport. A memorial service will be conducted at 7 P.M., following visitation on Tuesday, with the Rev. Frank Eppley, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.

Darwin L. Wenner, Local Atlantic & Mobile Service Station Owner/Operator


Darwin L. Wenner, 81, of, Smethport formerly of Port Allegany, died Saturday (April 27, 2013) in the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

He was born Feb 14, 1932 in Covington, PA, a son of the late Robert L. and Grace Shepherson Wenner, On December 4, 1951 in Farmers Valley, PA, he married Harriet C. Ostrander, who survives.

Mr. Wenner attended Bradford area schools and was a veteran having served in the US Army.

Mr. Wenner owned and operated the Atlantic and Mobile Service Station in Port Allegany for more than 20 years

Two sons: Dale L. (Joy) Wenner of Port Allegany, PA, Robert A.(Sally Jo) Wenner of Eldred, PA
3 grandchildren; Heather (Ron) Robinson, Amanda (Joe) Lannager, Faith Wenner and 8 great grandchildren
Eight sisters: Shelba Roselli of Kennedy , NY, Beverly Wenner of FL, Sandy(Dave) Thorwart of Johnsonburg, Barbara(Dan) Paget of Johnsonburg, PA, Velma(Bernie) Norlin of Johnsonburg, PA, Linda(Chuck) Kilhoffer of Wilcox, PA, Betty(Dave) DeGray of FL, Shirley(Don) Priest of Truman, PA Four brothers: Vivon Wenner of Medina, NY, John Wenner of Millport, PA, Robert(Linda) Wenner of Mt. Jewett, PA, Donald (Linda) Wenner of Wilcox, PA

Following Mr. Wenner's request there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at 11:00AM at the Veterans Memorial Home, 155 South of Port Allegany, with the Rev. James Kazimer, Pastor of the First Church of God, Eldred, officiating.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
