The Port Allegany Lady Gator Basketball Senior Night
was held February 4 as the Lady Gators hosted the Northern Potter Lady
Panthers.
The
first player to be honored was Somer Buchsenschutz. She is the
daughter of Jim and Cathy Buchsenschutz. She is a four-year letter
winner and received Honorable Mention recognition her sophomore year.
Somer has also played soccer for four years. She made the Honorable
Mention team in her sophomore year and made the All Star team as a
junior. She was again selected to the All Star Team as a senior and was
also selected to the Big 30 All Stars. Somer has qualified for
districts three years in a row in track. She plans to attend California
University to study Special Education Pre K through fourth grade.
Lynae
Delacour is the daughter of Keith and Barb Delacour. She is also a
four-year letter winner in basketball. Lynae has also participated in
soccer for four years serving as team captain for two years and is a
two-time Big 30 Representative and a first-team UAVSL. Lynae has ran
track for three years serving one year as captain. Lynae has been a
cheerleading captain participating three years and was also selected as a
Big 30 Cheerleader. Her other high school activities include Treasurer
of National Honor Society, Show Choir, Peer Hepers Secretary, Student
Council Vice President and Varsity Club President. Lynae plans to
attend Clarion University and major in Finance.
Hannah
Donnelly is the daughter of David and Joni Peer. She is a two-year
letter winner for the Lady Gators. Hannah plans to attend the
University of Edinboro to study a double major in Early Childhood
Education and Special Education with a minor in Accounting.
Allison
Lathrop is the daughter of Sean and Laurie Lathrop. Allison is a
two-year letter winner as the manager of the Lady Gators. Allison has
participated in Student Council for six years and is the secretary.
Allison is the Peer Helper President and has been a member for five
years. She is also the president of the Class of 2015. Allison has
participated in volleyball for six years and lettered two years. She
also played softball for two years, lettering one year. She is a
four-year track letter winner, is a member of the Varsity Club and also a
member of the Spanish Club. She plans to attend Great Lakes Institute
of Technology for Massage Therapy.
The
daughter of Wendy Roys and Terry Roys, Brooke has lettered in
basketball for three years. She is a two-time Northern Tier League
first team All Star. She is a Big 30 second team All Star She is also
a third-team District 9 All Star. Brooke's other achievements include
two-time volleyball first team Northern Tier League All Star and a
Softball Norther Tier League All Star as well as a Big 30 Softball All
Star. She is a member of the Student Council, is Senior Class President
and Peer Helper Vice-President. Brooke is the Varsity Club Vice
President and National Honor Society President. She plans to attend
Mansfield University to major in Biology and play softball.
Underclass
members of the Lady Gator Varsity team are Katie Ernst, Autumn
Buchsenschutz, Kelly Haggard, Kendra Pelchy, Samantha Metzler, Marianna
Seefeldt and Hannah Donnelly.
The team is coached by Kristina Francis.
Members of the JV team are Katie Ernst, Marianna Seefeldt, Lauren
Dynda, Emily Buchsenschutz, Leah Garzel, Brianna Roys, Paige Robinson,
Hannah Lathrop and Nina Barber. The JV is coached by Derrick Francis.
