Police Report 11/17 - 11/23

Two allegedly suicidal persons, each with a knife, were subjects of police calls, and a missing car was not stolen but had been taken by its other owner, in a comparatively quiet week for Port Allegany Police, beginning Monday, November 17.

Last Monday at 11 a.m. Chief Dave Distrola received information that a debit card had been found in the ATM at the First national Bank of Port Allegany.

Last Tuesday at 2:38 p.m. Distrola received a message from McKean County Children and Youth Services and forwarded it to Officer Adam Dickerson, soon to come on duty. No further information was released.

Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. Dickerson received a noise complaint concerning a Hickory Street location. He searched the area but did not see or hear the cause of the complaint.

Thursday at 2:08 p.m. Distrola received a call relaying the information that an unauthorized person had removed mail from a South Main Street resident’s mailbox. Distrola was unable to locate the unauthorized person.

At 5 p.m. Dickerson returned a phone call to an individual about a citation that had been issued to her.

At 6:30 p.m. Dickerson made a traffic stop on North Main Street for a traffic violation and issued a citation.

Friday at 8 a.m. Distrola was asked to help unlock a vehicle on Willow Street.

Saturday at 9:55 p.m. Officer Tony Tanner received a call about threats or harassment using Facebook, from an account suspected of having been hacked. Tanner advised the North Main Street resident to change all passwords.

Sunday at 7 a.m. Officer Jason Crants received a call from Pennsylvania State Police requesting assistance in locating an intoxicated person along Route 6. Shortly after Crants began the search the request was canceled.

At 1:20 p.m. Crants received a call reporting that a female said to be suicidal was near Vine Street, and had a knife. Crants found the individual. She was taken to Bradford Regional Medical Center for mental health observation.

At 7:59 p.m. Tanner received a call about a vehicle possibly stolen from the caller’s location. Tanner’s investigation revealed that the vehicle is jointly owned, and the other owner had caused the vehicle to be removed from the caller’s property.

At 12:23 a.m. Monday Tanner was asked to assist PSP with a matter involving a suicidal man with a knife. When Tanner reached the location indicated, the individual had left, but the knife was found there.
