Logan
Pearsall, PAHS Class of 2006, made a brief stop in his hometown after competing
at the FINA World Masters Championships held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
FINA
is the Federation's biggest competition in terms of participation as it welcomes,
every two years, adult athletes from all corners of the world. The
Masters movement actively promotes fitness, friendship, understanding and
competition through its five disciplines - swimming, diving, water polo,
synchronized swimming and open water swimming.
Logan
brought home three gold medals, a bronze medal and a fourth place from the 2014
Worlds event. He began diving at the age of 13 years old with coaches
Tony Edgell and Pam Payne at the Port Allegany Community Pool. While on
the Clarion University Dive Team, Logan won four national titles.
Before
competing at Worlds, he took five gold medals at Nationals held at Rutgers
University and in the spring he took four golds and one silver at the Nationals
held in San Antonio, Texas.
Logan
has accepted a position as the head diving coach at Colorado Mesa
University. He will also continue his studies to earn a nursing degree.
