Richard R. Smith, 62, of Bradford, formerly of Port Allegany, PA,
passed away on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the Bradford Regional Medical
Center.
He was born on April 26, 1952 a son of the late Lois Chandler Smith.
He
was a 1970 graduate of the Port Allegany High School and a graduate of
the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown; where he received his
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering.
He was a United States Air Force Veteran who served during the Vietnam War.
He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and he also enjoyed scuba diving in his spare time.
After
his military service he was employed as an Electrical Engineer by
Center Point Energy, Houston, TX for 30 years; retiring in 2012.
He
is survived by two sisters, Dawn (George Harrier) Rupert of Bradford,
Wendy (Ken) Sassman of Davie, FL; two brothers, Steve (Cindy Remington)
Smith of Port Allegany, Douglas Smith of Roulette; stepmother, Carole
Smith of Davie, FL and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by one brother, Terry Smith.
At the family’s request there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Grimes cemetery, Port Allegany.

the McKean County SPCA, P.O. Box 113, Bradford, PA 16701.
