Friends of the S. W. Smith Memorial Library is sponsoring
the 2014-15 Card Series to raise money for the library’s Children’s Summer
Reading Program.
Any person who enjoys playing bridge or 500 is asked to sign
up by contacting Marjorie Petzold at (814) 642-7533, before the end of August.
Games are played in the homes of the participants on a
flexible schedule, September – May.
Players donate $2.00 per game played during the season. No prizes are awarded as all money raised
goes to the library’s special project fund.
There were nearly 400 adults and children that participated
in the summer reading program this year, reading approximately 5,000
books. The summer reading program runs
from June to August.
The name of the program was “Fizz, Boom, Read!”
The library is located at 201 Maple Street and can be
reached by phoning (814) 642-9210.
