Charlene
E. “Charlie” Caulkins, 62, formerly of Port Allegany and Dumfries, VA, passed
away Sunday (May 17, 21015) in Colorado Springs, CO.
Born
September 22, 1952, she was a daughter of Joyce M. Caulkins of Port Allegany.
Charlene
was a resident of the area for many years, and a graduate of Port Allegany High
School, Class of 1970. After graduating, she started her federal career in
Washington, DC, with the Navy Postal Service, CNO Executive Panel, and Deputy
Chief of Naval Operations for Logistics. Between positions in the
Navy, she worked with the Small Business Administration. Charlie
finished her federal career with the Department of Energy, where she supported
several different organizations including a tour in the Office of the
Secretary. She retired in 2009 with almost 40 years of dedicated service.
She
enjoyed her cats and knitting.
She
is survived by an uncle, Keith Caulkins, Sr. of Hugo, CO and an aunt, Frances
Caulkins of Port Allegany; and several cousins.
She
was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce, and grandparents, Guy and Vanetta
Caulkins , an uncle Gerald Caulkins and an aunt, Marjorie Bosnick.
A
graveside service will be held at at 11 a.m. Saturday
(July 25, 2015) in
Card Creek Cemetery, Roulette.

arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port
Allegany.
