Port Allegany Police had a relatively
quiet week, beginning Monday, January 26. It would have been quieter without
that smoke alarm triggered by a culinary mishap.
Last Monday at 1
p.m. Chief Dave Distrola helped a motorist
unlock a vehicle at an East Mill Street residence.
At 1:17 p.m. Distrola received a
complaint of harassment from a Park Lane resident, who said an ex-boyfriend was
telephoning and driving by her residence.
Last Tuesday at 10:27 p.m. Officer Tony
Tanner responded to a report of a domestic conflict at 24 North Main Street.
The male party left when Tanner arrived.
Thursday at 11:45 a.m. Distrola was contacted about a person
retrieving property from a Chestnut Street address. The complainant was advised
to contact the property owner and make arrangements for the removal. The
resident could not be reached.
Friday at 7:30 a.m. Distrola was dispatched to Scheetz
where a vehicle occupant was said to be slumped over the steering wheel. Distrola
found that the occupant was sleeping.
Saturday at 12:30 a.m. Officer Kyle Day received a report
concerning a loose dog that was being detained at a Mill Street residence. Day
referred the caller to the SPCA.
At 2:30 p.m. Day responded to an alarm
at a Ransome Street location. A smoke alarm had been activated by cooking. The
occupants were okay.
Sunday at 3:20 a.m. Officer Colin Strawcutter cited Linda
Walters, 53, of Eldred for public drunkenness. Walters was a guest at the Port
Motel. A passing motorist had reported seeing a person allegedly passed out on
the sidewalk near the Dollar General. Walters was found by the officer and
transported by ambulance to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital with a possible head
injury.
At 10:29 a.m. Officer Jason Crants was
contacted by a Broad Street resident about a power outage. Crants explained
that most of the community was without electrical service.
