Mildred L.
“Millie” Richner, 88, formerly of Two Mile Rd., passed away Friday (Jan. 9,
2015) in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
Born Feb.
8, 1926, in Buffalo, NY, she was a daughter of Joseph and Anna DuBois
Overdorf. On July 18, 1969, she married Richard D. “Dick” Richner,
Jr. in Smethport, PA, who died Aug. 12, 2003.
Mildred was
a cook having worked at Manning’s Restaurant, the Oakleaf Restaurant, Moose
Club, and later Ron’s Place before her retirement.
She was a
member of Women of the Moose, Port Allegany.
She also
enjoyed playing cards especially with Friends of the Library.
Surviving
are two sons, Gary (Alice) Falk of Port Allegany, Robert (Brenda) Falk of
Eldred; four daughters, Janis Williams of Upland, CA, Anna (David) Fair, Nancy
(Terry) Hardes, and Ellen (Chris) Mosher all of Port Allegany; a
daughter-in-law, Patricia Falk of Port Allegany, 20 grandchildren, many
great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; a stepson, James
Richner of South Dakota; a stepdaughter, Becky (Ben) Van Sickles of Roulette;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard, a son, Ronald Falk, a
grandson, Colin Falk, three brothers, and three sisters.
Friends
will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the Switzer Funeral Home,
Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11
a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 14, 2015) with Rev. Joann Piatko, pastor of
Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Port Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in Grimes
Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials
can be made to the Port Allegany Area Ambulance.
