Port Allegany Police found things
relatively quiet in the week that began Monday, November 10. A juvenile was
late coming home—again. There were some erratic drivers. There was a chimney
fire, and someone needed to be hospitalized for mental health evaluation.
One incident illustrated the point that
one should not pack a backpack in the back of a pickup, because it can be
picked up by the wrong person.
Last Monday at 10:30
a.m. Chief Dave Distrola received a
complaint of harassment by communication from a Catlin Avenue resident who said
that her ex-boyfriend persisted in calling and texting her. Distrola made
contact with the ex and warned him to refrain from the unwanted communications,
or he would face criminal charges.
Last Wednesday at 5:53 p.m. Officer
Adam Dickerson was called to an Arnold Avenue residence for a mental health issue.
A male subject later was transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center for
commitment and evaluation.
Thursday at 7:15
p.m. Officer Tony Tanner received a
complaint concerning a teenager who did not return home at the time specified.
This was the second time in a month that this juvenile had been the subject of
such a call to police. Tanner spoke with the juvenile about the issue.
At 10:30 p.m. Tanner responded to an
alarm at the Kwik Fill. It was deemed to be a false alarm. Tanner found nothing
amiss. No key holder responded.
Friday at 9:30 a.m. Officer Kyle Day received a report of
the theft of a backpack from the back of a pickup truck which had been parked
behind the Moose Family Center Thursday night.
Saturday at 3:10 p.m. Officer William Wenzel received a
report of an erratic driver traveling toward and into the borough on Route 6
West. The call was relayed to Pennsylvania State Police. Wenzel was unable to
locate the vehicle. Later it was confirmed that the vehicle in question had
been found in Smethport.
At 8:50 p.m. Officer Tanner received a
report of an erratic driver headed toward the borough on Route 155. He was
unable to locate the vehicle, and it appeared that the driver had turned off on
Two Mile Road or Route 6 West.
At 11:15 p.m. Tanner responded to
Smethport to provide backup at a traffic stop that involved the finding of
drugs.
Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Officer Day stood by at the
intersection of West Ransome Street and North Main Street to provide traffic
control for the fire department’s response to a chimney fire.
