Gator Pride

Something new is hanging around Main Street (across from Sheetz) in Port Allegany.  The downtown area has been going through a transformation as of late and local businessman Brandon Bliss got thinking there was no link between the town and the school or the Gator mascot.  Being an avid supporter of the school system and a huge sports fan, Bliss decided to contract artist Steve Baker to fabricate the Gator.  Bliss said, "My hope in having the Gator fabricated is that we would all remember where we come from."  He added, "I hope that people like it.  More importantly, my hope is when we pass the "Gator" we all remember how fortunate we are to have this great town as our home and that we will be a vibrant community again.  Gator Pride!"  Pam Fischer Photo
