Fernley A.
Studer, 83, of Skinner Creek Rd., passed away Tuesday (Oct. 7, 2014) in Sena
Kean Manor, Smethport.
Born March
4, 1931, in Port Allegany, PA, he was a son of Floyd A. and Iva L. Harris
Studer.
He was
married to Katherine Sherwood, who preceded him in death.
Fernley had
worked for Sylvania Co. of Emporium, Playwood Plastics Co. of
Roulette. He also had managed a filling station in Alma, NY, but
most recently worked for Pierce Glass Co. of Port Allegany, 28 years, retiring
in 1985.
He was a
lifetime resident of the area and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge
460, Port Allegany.
Surviving
are a stepson, George “Bucky” Sherwood of Eldred, PA; and four sisters,
Virginia D. Heany of Smethport, Esther M. Ross of Rantoul, IL. Rena M. (James)
Bliss of Eldred, and Joan Y. Waid of Port Allegany.
He was
preceded in death by his parents, a baby boy, Paul A. Studer, two brothers,
Floyd “Bud” Studer, and Joseph Studer; and three sisters, Clasa Studer, Mildred
Ludwig, and Donna Williams.
There will
be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience
of the family. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.
Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port
Allegany.
