Port Allegany Police responded to
various requests for help and reports of suspected wrongdoing, got someone to
corral a horse and heard about people starting work too early, in the week that
began Monday, September 8.
Last Monday at 7:30
a.m. someone called to tell Chief Dave
Distrola that construction noise had started at nearby St. Gabriel the Archangel
Catholic Church at 6:30 a.m.,
and opined that this was too early to run equipment.
At 10:20 a.m. Distrola noticed a female
pedestrian, described as “suspicious,” with a pile of clothes. He identified
her as Misty Mulnick, and found that she was in violation of her terms of
probation, and transported her to McKean County Jail.
Last Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. a cell phone
was turned in at the police station. Distrola called a contact on the phone,
who helped locate the owner, and the phone was reunited with its owner.
At 1:13 p.m. Distrola was called to an
Arnold Avenue address for a report of a mental health issue. A male was
transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center by the McKean County Sheriff’s
Department.
At 9:10 p.m. Distrola responded to a residence
on Pearl Street for a report of a juvenile having behavior problems. He spoke
with the child, the child calmed down and went to bed. The caretaker had
notified McKean County Children and Youth Services before Distrola arrived.
Last Wednesday at 3:30
a.m. Officer Kyle Day responded to a report
of a horse running at large in the vicinity of 810 North Main Street. The owner
was identified and notified, and retrieved the horse.
At 1:30 p.m. Distrola was dispatched to
Knapp Road off Two Mile Road for a report of a man with a gun. When he got
there Pennsylvania State Police had the subject in custody.
Thursday at 8:30
p.m. Officer Tony Tanner unlocked a motor
vehicle at Glass Place parking lot.
Friday at 10:30
a.m. Distrola received a complaint that a former
employee had not returned keys to a manager of the company responsible for
taking care of a Church Street building. Distrola contacted the former employee
and advised him to return the keys.
At
4:34 p.m. Tanner received a
complaint concerning an incident alleged to have occurred over the Labor Day
weekend. The complainant inquired about an incident her five-year-old told her
had occurred, involving the child’s father, at Sheetz. Tanner told the caller
no report of such an incident had been received by Port Allegany Police.
Saturday at 1:56
p.m. Officer Jason Crants was asked to be
on the lookout for a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run in Eldred. The Vehicle
was found later by PSP.
At 6:15 p.m. Tanner acted upon a “lift”
order for a registration plate found on a vehicle at Penny Lane. The owner of
the vehicle was advised to have the vehicle towed from the housing complex.
At 4:15 p.m. Tanner was dispatched to
South Main Street for a report of a female subject lying on the side of the
road. Tanner found that the person was drifting in and out of consciousness and
was having trouble breathing. An ambulance was dispatched to transport the
individual to Charles Cole Hospital. No more information was provided to the
officer.
Sunday at 9 a.m. Day was dispatched to
Route 155 South for an OnStar vehicle diagnostic report of a vehicle crash
involving a deer. The vehicle was reported as being on Portage Road. Day was
unable to locate it.
