Port's Pearsall Named Swimming Coach

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Colorado Mesa University Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of former NCAA Div. II diving national champion Logan Pearsall as the new men's and women's diving coach.

Pearsall most recently served as the head diving coach at Pace University, where he coached three women qualifiers for the NCAA Div. II National Championships and the school record holder. During this time, Logan also coached with Whirlwind Diving, one of the best age group programs in the Northeast. While there, he was instrumental in the coaching and development of numerous national qualifiers as well as regional and national champions. He also coached at Wheaton College where his divers rewrote the record board as well as qualified for the NCAA Div. III National Championships.

"Logan brings a strong knowledge of Div. II diving," said head coach Ron Allen. "His experience as both a student-athlete and coach will continue to move our diving program to one of the best in the nation."

Pearsall was named the NCAA Div. II Diver of the Year in 2010 and 2011 and also collected Break Out Diver of the Year honors in 2010. As a sophomore in 2009, Pearsall was named the Clarion University of Pennsylvania Male Athlete of the Year. Still heavily active in the sport, Pearsall is a recent four-time Masters Diving National Champion.

Pearsall will begin his duties in August.
