Police Report 5/26 - 6/01

Dogs caused problems, a party around a grill “campfire” was noisy and so was another crowd on Pearl Street, there were some custody kerfluffles, and a couple argued over cigarettes. These and other matters came to the attention of Port Allegany Police in the week that began Monday, May 26.

Last Monday at 6:42 p.m. Officer Jason Crants unlocked a car for a Pearl Street resident. The family dog and a child had been locked inside. It was the dog’s fault, for pushing the lock button.

At 7:30 p.m. Crants responded to a report of a domestic altercation at a North Main Street address. The person who called said he and his girlfriend had got into an argument over cigarettes and she had attacked him. Later Crants learned that it had been a mutual argument. No charges were filed.

Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. Officer Adam Dickerson was contacted by a Penny Lane resident about a child custody issue. Dickerson found that the caller’s ex was at the residence and wanted to take the child although it was not her day to do so, according to the custody order.

Friday at 2:30 p.m. Officer Kyle Day received a report of a possible mental health problem concerning an East Mill Street resident. The subject had posted on Facebook about some feelings, causing others to become concerned and to call authorities. The subject said his posts had been misinterpreted.

At 3 p.m. Day received a call from someone in Roulette about a custody issue. He advised the caller to contact her attorney.

At 5 p.m. Officer Tony Tanner received a complaint about loud music from a Main Street resident. Tanner indicated that he could not find the source of the loud music reported by the caller.

Saturday at 1:10 a.m. Tanner discovered a crowd of people arguing on Pearl Street. He advised the group to disperse and to refrain from disturbing the neighborhood.

At 2 a.m. Tanner was called to a housing unit on Ransome Street for a noise disturbance. He discovered a group of people having a campfire in a grill. Tanner advised the subjects to get the flames under control and keep the noise down.

At 10:30 a.m. Officer Day stood by at a Main Street address while someone recovered possessions.

Sunday at 12:05 p.m. Crants received a complaint concerning an ATV on Wildwood Drive. He advised the complainant to contact Pennsylvania State Police.

At 1:55 p.m. Crants received a complaint concerning a dog attacking chickens on Brooklynside Road. He advised the complainant to contact PSP or the state dog warden.

At 8:10 p.m. Officer Tanner received a complaint about someone speeding on Vine Street. It was said this has happened repeatedly in the past while.
