Connie Rae Hallock, Volunteer



Connie Rae Hallock, 68, of Lower Portage Rd., passed away Tuesday (May 20, 2014) in the Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.
    
Born May 26, 1945, in Big Flats, NY, she was a daughter of Murrell E. and Pearl A. Hartman Hurd.  On Dec. 31, 1986, in Coudersport, she married David M. Hallock, who survives.
    
Connie was employed with Cole Memorial Hospital for 21 years as a nurse’s aide, retiring in 2010.
    
She was a lifetime resident of the area and a former EMT with the Roulette Ambulance and a former member of the Roulette Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.  
    
Surviving in addition to her husband, David, are three sons, John T. Pearsall of Ashville, NC, Raymond A. Roberts, of Byrndale, PA, Brandon D. (Melissa) Hallock of Gunnison, CO; four daughters, Nanette S. Hurd of Roulette, Teresa A. Gallup, Rebecca L. (Nate) Evens and Latisha M. (Mark) Howard all of Port Allegany; nine granddaughters: Nicole (Jeremy Tucker) Kio, Jamie (Mark) Bowers, Shana Houghtaling, Brittani Bova, Karli Neff, Brianna Niles, Megan and MacKenzie Roberts, Maycie Howard; five grandsons: Joshua and Logan Pearsall, Alex Roberts, Levi Howard and Brandon Hallock; 8 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Norman and David Hurd both of Port Allegany, John Hurd of Shinglehouse, Duncan Hurd of Bath, NY; two sisters, Norma Hurd of Coudersport, and Tanya Hurd of Altoona, PA;  and two nieces, Tina (Thurston) Roe and Lori Hurd; a nephew, Garrett (Denise) Hurd; special friends: Kelly Merritt, Shannon Snyder, Ron and Dawn Billings.
    
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Richard Roberts, a daughter, Pearl Hurd; a brother, Garrett Hurd, a sister, Reva Hurd; and a granddaughter, Natasha Roberts.
    
Friends will be received from 1-3 p.m. Monday (May 26, 2014) in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Port Allegany, where a memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. with Rev. J.T. Madison, pastor, officiating.  
    
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
    
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
