Norman C.
Kitchen, 69, of S. Main St., passed away Saturday (Nov. 16, 2013) of an
apparent heart attack, in his home.
Born
February 10, 1944, in Pittsburgh, PA, he was a son of Wilbur C. and Eileen F.
Mitchell Kitchen.
He was the
owner and operator of Norman’s Shop, South Main St., Port Allegany for many
years before his retirement.
Norman was
resident of the area for over 30 years coming from the Pittsburgh area. He was
a graduate of Baldwin High School, Pittsburgh, PA.
He was a
veteran of the Viet Nam War, having served in the US Navy.
Norman
enjoyed hunting, shooting, and high performance cars. He was very
inventive and had a high mechanical aptitude.
Surviving
are his parents, Wilbur and Eileen Kitchen of Pittsburgh; a brother, David L.
Kitchen of Crosby, PA; two sisters, Myrna J. (Wayne) Putt of Indiana, PA, and
Nancy E. Hudson of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
There will
be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at the
convenience of the family.
Funeral
arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port
Allegany.
