Ronald L. Rupert, Sr., Father of 5



Ronald L. Rupert, Sr. 64, of Lower Portage Rd., passed away Monday (Oct. 21, 2013) at his home.
    
Born September 20, 1949, in Ford City, PA, he was a son of Roy G. and Melda W. Steffey Rupert.  
    
Ronald was employed by the Pittsburgh Corning Co., Port Allegany for many years.  
      
He was a graduate of the Ford City High School, Class of 1967.  
      
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge 460, Port Allegany, and a social member of the VFW, Smethport.
    
He was a fan of all Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers.  He was an avid outdoorsman with a love of hunting and fishing.  
      
Surviving are a son, Ronald L. Rupert, Jr. of Port Allegany; four daughters, Tracy L. (Kevin Renaud) Rupert of Ridgway, PA, Jennifer J. (Russell) Beck of Emporium, PA, Kimberly A. (Mike) Hahn of Eldred, Rhonda K. (Lee Windsor) Rupert of Turtlepoint; 15 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael J. (Brenda) Rupert of Telford, TN; five sisters, Renee Goldinger of Mantua, OH, Patricia (Paul) Faber of Elderton, PA, Dianne Rupert of Kittanning, PA, Donna Barto  and Glenna Opalka both of Ford City, PA; and a sister-in-law, Fely Rupert of Ford City; and several nieces and nephews.  
    
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Earl and Roy G. Rupert, Jr. and two brother-in-laws, Edwin Barto and P. David Opalka.  
    
A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced.  
    
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
      
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany.
