Mr. Tracy Kio has been selected to fill the position of elementary
principal which recently became vacant following the retirement of Mrs.
Terry Kriner. Mr. Kio is a 1982 graduate of Port Allegany High School
and a 1987 graduate of Mansfield University with a B.S.Ed. He received a
Masters Equivalency from PA in 1992; graduated in 2006 with a M.Ed. in
curriculum and instruction; and is a 2008 graduate of Edinboro
University with a K-12 Principal certification.
He has taught in Port Allegany for the past 24 years and was Assistant Principal for two years.
Speaking of his new position, Mr. Kio offered the following, "I am excited about having the opportunity to work with the students, teachers and community in this capacity. I wish to create a welcoming environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging and ownership. Above all, I want our children to be safe, happy and eager to learn."
Mr.
Kio resides in Port Allegany with his wife, Vicky L. Kio. The couple
has two daughters - Kaitlyn Kio who is a senior at Westminster College
and Kaylee Kio who will be attending the University of Pittsburgh at
