Albert
Knapp and his wife, Betty, are pictured during the Open House held at
the Evangelical Covenant Church in celebration of Al's 90th birthday.
Living all of his life in this area, Al was born in the Port
Allegany Hospital on August 19, 1923. He attended the Weimer School in
Pleasant Valley Township and graduated from the Port Allegany Union High
School in 1942. He is a veteran of World War II and held various jobs
before becoming a mechanic for L & J Chevrolet until it closed. He
then worked for the North Penn Gas Company until his retirement in
1988.
Al married Jacqueline Goodrich in 1949. The
couple had three children. They enjoyed traveling to many of the states
and National Parks in the United States. Al married Betty Brown in
2005 and in 2007, the couple took a trip to Hawaii which made the 50th
state that Al had visited.
Al and his family wish to thank everyone for their good wishes,
cards, gifts and for joining them to celebrate Al's 90th birthday.
