Celebrating 90 Years

Albert Knapp and his wife, Betty, are pictured during the Open House held at the Evangelical Covenant Church in celebration of Al's 90th birthday.

Living all of his life in this area, Al was born in the Port Allegany Hospital on August 19, 1923.  He attended the Weimer School in Pleasant Valley Township and graduated from the Port Allegany Union High School in 1942.  He is a veteran of World War II and held various jobs before becoming a mechanic for L & J Chevrolet until it closed.  He then worked for the North Penn Gas Company until his retirement in 1988.

Al married Jacqueline Goodrich in 1949.  The couple had three children.  They enjoyed traveling to many of the states and National Parks in the United States.  Al married Betty Brown in 2005 and in 2007, the couple took a trip to Hawaii which made the 50th state that Al had visited.

Al and his family wish to thank everyone for their good wishes, cards, gifts and for joining them to celebrate Al's 90th birthday.
