Pitt-Bradford plans classes on OSHA safety regulations


Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford will hold two mini-safety seminars this summer to help businesses comply with the standards set by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.

Sponsored by the university’s Division of Continuing Education and Regional Development, these short courses are designed for supervisors and safety directors to enhance their ability to keep their employees safe and in compliance with OSHA regulations.

Classes are designed and provided through an alliance with the OSHA Erie Office. Both will be held in Room 200 of the Seneca Building, 2 Main St., Bradford.

The first session, Nursing Home and Residential Care Facilities National Emphasis Program, will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon June 4. This class will cover inspection procedures, training components and resident-handling issues.

The second session, which will take place from 8:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 27, will cover safety subjects and information on the Globally Harmonized System of classification and labeling of chemicals. The safety portion will cover fall prevention and heat stress, and handout material will be provided. The portion on chemical labeling will go over communication standards, implementation timeframes and compliance issues.
