Branding & Building New Business in Port Allegany

How does Port Allegany become a destination for tourism, new residents and new industry? Join the Port Allegany Economic Development Committee on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at 7:00 PM, at 45 West Maple Street, Port Allegany,  for a presentation by Linda Devlin, Executive Director of the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau on Branding & Building New Business in Port Allegany.

Branding is an important part of every destination. Everything has a brand-whether good or bad. Discover how residents and business owners can work together to develop optimum brand positing for Port Allegany. Discussions will include identifying the unique selling points for Port Allegany, and envisioning how Port Allegany can market and develop as a destination. Information will be presented on “trail towns”, including a possible “water trail” along the Allegany River for Port Allegany.

Devlin has been successfully partnering with communities and organizations during the last 15 years to create and promote new tourism product. Projects have included working with the community of Smethport to develop the Smethport Mansion District and walking tour brochure, the Mt. Jewett Heritage Mural in Mt. Jewett and most recently the Kinzua Sky Walk with the 50th anniversary Kinzua Sky Walk brochure.

Bring your ideas, suggestions and comments as this promises to be a spirited discussion.
