Pitt-Bradford vocal ensemble to present free concert

Bradford, PA – The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Vocal Arts Ensemble will present a spring concert at 11:30 a.m. April 16 in the KOA Speer Electronics Lobby of Blaisdell Hall.

The program, which is free and open to the public, is part of the university’s Spectrum Series.

The ensemble will perform the traditional folk song “Shenandoah,” the spiritual “Down by the Riverside,” “If we Hold on Together” from “The Land Before Time,” “Luck be a Lady” from “Guys and Dolls,” and other works.

Student soloists will include Selese Huth, a writing major from Tionesta, performing “Guys and Dolls” from the musical of the same name; Shaniyra Scott, a business management major from Philadelphia, performing “Save the Best for Last;” Nyssa Brumagin, an interdisciplinary arts major from North Warren, performing “The Trees They Grow so High;” Matthew Tuzynski, an interdisciplinary arts major from Clarks Mills, performing “When Irish Eyes are Smiling;” Elizabeth Schwab, an accounting major from Duke Center, performing “Whistle Down the Wind;” and Greg Mirth, an environmental studies major from North East, performing “Vado ben spesso.”

The Vocal Arts Ensemble is directed by Dr. John Levey, assistant professor of music. Voice instructor Regina Gabriel will accompany her students.
