PORT ALLEGANY, PA — Robert Veilleux has been named Borough Manager of Port Allegany,
according to an announcement made by Council President Andrew Johnson following
a unanimous vote by Council at their meeting Monday night.
As Borough Manager, Mr. Veilleux will be responsible for
oversight of the daily operations of the Borough, including the management of
the Borough’s streets, water, and sewer departments. He will also work with Council on long-term
strategic planning and economic development.
Mr. Veilleux has served as Executive Director of the Potter
County Education Council since 2013, having previously served in both Education
and Community and Economic Development positions with Penn State Cooperative
Extension and the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History and Political
Science from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and a Master of
Professional Studies in Community and Economic Development from Penn State
University.
"I've had the pleasure of working with Dick Kallenborn
on several projects over the past few years, and feel that he has done a great
deal for this community. Taking this
position, I hope to continue the work that he started and also bring new
opportunities to Port Allegany" said Veilleux.
Richard Kallenborn, who served as Borough Manager for the
past 19 years retired in December of last year and has continued to serve the
Borough in a part-time consulting capacity during the search for his successor.
