The Port Allegany Rotary Club honored one
of their own during the regular weekly meeting held Thursday at the
Moose Family Center. Lloyd Eastman joined the local club in February of
1970. He has held the offices of President and Treasurer. In addition
to his 45 years of service, Eastman also has 45 years of perfect
attendance. President Jerry Goodrich presented Eastman with a 45-year
pin. Eastman is a retired banker and worked for the First National Bank
of Port Allegany for 64 years. He and his wife, Dolores, have four
children, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great
grandson with another great-grandchild and great-great grandchild on the
way. He is an active member of the Port Allegany United Methodist
Church.
There
were 15 Rotarians present for a reportable attendance of 60 percent.
Visitors included Smethport Rotarian Troy Herzog and Exchange Student
Anniek Zengerink.
Celebrating
March birthdays are Dave Fair, Scott Bayline and Jerry Goodrich.
Goodrich is also celebrating his club anniversary having 23 years of
service.
Marty Moses reported that the RYLA students have been selected. They are Ashley Anderson and Andrew Rosenswie.
In
other business, the club agreed to send two students to Camp JJ,
sponsor a week for the COTS program and will form a committee to go over
the bylaws and make necessary changes.
