The Music department of the Port Allegany School District
will present its annual Wintersongs concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday
nights at the junior-senior high school auditorium.
This year there will be a cross-generational,
multi-community aspect to the concert, with the North Country Singers
collaborating on two numbers.
Student groups will include the Chamber Singers, Concert
Choir, Junior High Chorus, Elementary Ensemble and Elementary Choruses.
The 28-voice North Country Voices group is drawn from
Austin, Coudersport, Genesee, Harrison Valley, Ulysses and Smethport.
Wintersongs will feature carols and holiday music by the
various groups, and a finale including all the groups and conducted by Ken and
Annamaria Myers, high school choral director and elementary music instructor
respectively.
General admission tickets are $3 at the door; advance
tickets may be obtained for $2 at the high school.
Audience members are encouraged to bring non-perishable food
items for contribution to the Port Allegany Community Services food pantry.
