A stun gun was found and turned in. A
wandering dog came back home. Children stayed with one parent over the weekend
and allegedly came home bruised. An individual reported that breaking up and
getting your property back is hard to do. False information allegedly given the
previous week resulted in charges this one.
Port Allegany Police were asked to deal
with those and other matters in the week that began Monday, December 8.
Last Monday at 7:27
p.m. Officer Tony Tanner received a call
about a missing dog. Later the dog returned on its own.
At 7:50 p.m. Tanner received
information concerning someone who had been located in a suspicious vehicle
last week. Tanner learned that the passenger had provided allegedly false
information. Seth Howard was charged in connection with the offense.
At 10:35 p.m. Tanner responded to a
minor crash on Two Mile Road. He collected information and forwarded it to
Pennsylvania State Police.
Last Tuesday at 9 a.m. Chief Dave
Distrola received a report that a set of keys may have been lost on the Square.
The keys have not been recovered.
Last Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. Distrola
assisted a motorist with a vehicle lock-out at Sheetz.

near the Allegany Water Works on Route 155. Information was gathered and
forwarded to PSP.
At 10 a.m. a stun gun was turned in at the
borough office and delivered to the police department. It was said to have been
found near Shooter’s Bar.
Friday at 4:30 p.m. Officer Adam Dickerson received a
request to assist with a property issue. The information indicated that the
locus of the matter was outside of the borough, so the caller was referred to
PSP.
At 6:30 p.m. Dickerson was asked to stand
by at an address where an ex wanted to do a walk-through of the residence on
the advice of a mediator involved in a child custody matter. The individual did
not show up for the walk-through.
At 10:10 p.m. Dickerson received a
request to retrieve property from a Benton Avenue address. Dickerson told the
caller to contact the magisterial district justice, because this is a civil
issue, and not a police matter.
Saturday at 1:30 a.m. Dickerson received a complaint from a
North Main Street renter who said the downstairs tenant’s dog was barking. The
downstairs resident was not home. Dickerson indicated that he would attempt to
locate the owner later in the day.
At 10:30 a.m. Officer William Wenzel
received a call concerning someone’s hopes of retrieving property from the
Benton Avenue address mentioned Friday. The caller said his ex would not turn
over the property. Wenzel told the caller that action in civil court is used to
address such matters.
Sunday at 6 p.m. Dickerson received
information concerning suspected child abuse. The caller indicated that three
children had stayed with their father over the weekend and had returned with
bruises. McKean County Children and Youth Services was notified. Investigation
is ongoing.
