A nativity scene is being added to Port Allegany's downtown holiday look
this year. The project was spearheaded by Peg McKervey. Eight sheets
of plywood, plenty of paint and lots of painstaking work have been
devoted to the figures. The family donkey can just be seen behind the
manger; the baby has not been placed, in this photo. Also new are the
blue and white banners on the streetlight posts. The Square will have
lighted trees, lights on the Gazebo and other holiday decorations in
time for the December 4
Christmas on the Square evening event, which organizers hope will be
the "first annual" one. Also expected is a Santa's House, constructed at
the Seneca Highlands Career and Technology Center, to be transported to
the Square. Martha Knight Photo
