Ruth J.
Roboski, 82, of Mapleview Lane, Coudersport, formerly of Roulette, passed away
Monday (Nov. 17, 2014) in Hamot UPMC, Erie, PA.
Born June
18, 1932, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of George and Emma M. Dibble
Nicklaus. On Dec. 1, 1951, in Port Allegany, she married Adam L. Roboski, who
died Apr. 25, 1994.
Mrs.
Roboski was employed by Pure Carbon, Co. (now Morgan AM&T) of
Coudersport, for several years before her retirement.
Ruth was a
lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Roulette High School, Class
of 1950. She was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church,
Roulette. She was a member of the former Rebekahs’ Wisteria Lodge
164, of Port Allegany, Roulette Fire Department Auxiliary, and several local
card clubs, one being the Friends of the Library. She was also a volunteer with
Cole Memorial Hospital.
Surviving
are two sons, Leonard A. (Susan) Roboski of Port Allegany, Stanley E. (Joann)
Roboski of Roulette; 5 daughters, Bonnie J. (William) Culver and Barbara A.
(Max) Mumford both of Port Allegany, Darlene R. (Steve) Irwin of Emporium,
Dorothy L. (Timothy) Schoener, and Audrey M. Glassmire both of Coudersport; 13
grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Thresa Scalfaro and Mary
(Joe) Marinik both of Smethport, Helen Pransky and June (Roland) Kio both of
Eldred, Patricia (Richard) Baker of Inverness, FL, and several nieces and
nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband, Adam, and three sisters, Hilda
Buckowski, Aurellia Reese and Edna Minster.
Friends
will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Switzer Funeral Home,
Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (Nov. 21,
2014) with Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette
and United Methodist Church, Port Allegany, officiating. Burial will be in
Lyman Cemetery, Roulette.
