Story Hour at S. W. Smith

The Fall session of Story Hour is underway at S. W. Smith Memorial Public Library in Port Allegany.  Volunteers read to the preschoolers, play games and sing songs.  Children are given the opportunity to pick new books to take home each week.

In the above photo, volunteer reader Susan Roboski and Karen Strait read during Wednesday's Story Hour.

Children ages birth through second grade are also invited to Bedtime Story Hour on Thursday, October 23 from 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.  Preschool children must be accompanied by an adult.  There is no need to sign up.  Children may come in street clothes or their pajamas.

During Story Hour, author, Dawn Bacon will read to the group from her book, Tellie Turtle and Friends Adventures.  From 6:30 - 7 p.m. she will have her book for sale and will autograph the books.  Story Hour events are under the direction of Children's Librarian, Karen Strait.  Pam Fischer Photo
