Peg McKervey wants to raise $700, as soon as possible, for a
project she hopes can be accomplished in time for the coming holiday season: a
nativity scene display, to be placed on the Square.
The display will be made of plywood and will be similar to
the one that has been placed on the Court House lawn in Smethport.
McKervey sets the goal at $700 based on needing 11 sheets of
plywood and some other materials. She said people involved the nativity display
project in Smethport have offered some leftover paint and materials, and their
designs.
Donors are encouraged to send or bring contributions to
Nativity Display Fund, in care of Pat Bodamer at the First National Bank of
Port Allegany.
McKervey’s husband and other volunteers will make the
display. The ministerium will be asked to assist with enlisting the support of
the churches of the community. Other organizations and individuals are invited
to participate in the project.
