World Race Bound

Port Allegany's Jenna Martin, PAHS Class of 2005,  is headed for World Race.  The World Race is part of Adventures in Mission, an inter-denominatioal missions organization that has sent over 100,000 people into the mission field since 1989.  Jenna will embark on a 12-month mission trip that will take her to over a dozen countries and will leave in early September.   Some of the countries she will travel to are Guatemala, Nicaragua, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Botswana, Swaziland, Romania and Albania.  Three events are planned to help fund Jenna's trip.  From noon until 4 p.m., stop by the First Baptist Church located Main Street in Port Allegany, for Pie (and ice cream) for Peace.  Tastes and Tour at Lynn Hall will take place from 12 noon until 4 p.m.  Lynn Hall is named after Walter Hall, the architect that built the house in the early 1930's; also the colleague of Frank Lloyd Wright.  This beautiful home has many characteristics of Wright's common work including Falling Water.  The home is currently being restored.  Enjoy local cheeses, snacks and wine or beer while touring and learning about the property. Visit the World Fair at the Moose Family Center located at 35 Pearl Street from 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.  There will be booths full of delicious cuisine and beverages from around the world, games, auctions, 50/50's, art work, crafts and much more.  Admission is free.  Stop by to wish Jenna well and say good-bye.  Pam Fischer Photo
