Upcoming events at the Port Allegany Senior Center include
bingo after lunch on Tuesday, August 12; a pot luck at 12:45 p.m. Sunday,
August 17; the monthly Fifty-Plus Club meeting after lunch on August 21; and
the August birthday party with music by Carl and Joanne Campbell beginning at 10:30
a.m. Monday, August 25. Visiting Nurses will offer a program after lunch on Thursday,
August 28.
Activities director Angie Culver says the Healthy Steps
program is offered every Wednesday forenoon, and there are crafts on Thursdays.
Any weekday is likely to find one or more people working on
one of the big puzzles, off and on. Others watch television, while some read,
some use the computer, and some chat with each other and check the latest
newspapers.
To sign up for one or more of the weekday congregate meals
(served at noon), call 642-2101 at least a day ahead, Culver advises. Drop-in
visitors are welcome, and can participate in activities of their choice.
