A stray male dog caused a stay-at-home
female dog to stray from the path of virtue. An unregistered, stickerless
vehicle was ordered removed from the roadway on Church Street. Someone stole a
weed eater and sensibly stole the gas can and contents to make sure he/she had
fuel for the machine.
These and other matters occupied the
attention of the Port Allegany Police in the week that began Monday, August 11.
Last Monday at 3:45
p.m. Chief Dave Distrola received a
complaint about an identified driver running a stop sign on Willow Street at
Arnold Avenue. Distrola was unable to locate the vehicle in question.
At 6:39 p.m. Officer Kyle Day was
called upon to assist a motorist with a vehicle lock-out on Broad Street.
At 7:30 p.m. Day received a complaint
about a car being parked on Church Street while lacking a valid registration
and an inspection sticker, and taking up a parking space.
Last Tuesday at 6 p.m. Day issued a
written notice to the resident of 54 Church Street to remove the motor vehicle
within 72 hours or obtain current registration and the required inspection
sticker. It was pointed out that fines would accrue daily for continued
violations.
Last Wednesday Distrola received a
complaint alleging identity theft. A South Carolina resident stated that a
Comes Creek resident had stolen her identity and was writing checks in the
victim’s name. The caller was referred to Pennsylvania State Police.
Thursday at 8
a.m. Distrola received a report that a gas
can and a weed eater had been stolen from the bed of his company truck while it
was parked overnight at his Catlin Avenue address.
Friday at 11:05
a.m. Distrola received a complaint of a
possible theft of money from a room at the Mid-Town Motel. The incident was
deemed unfounded because the subject had been terminated from his employment
with a company renting rooms for its workers. The termination had occurred
Tuesday due to violation of company policy.
Saturday at 11 a.m. Day received a report of a wallet
having been lost, possibly at the Park Hotel. The owner of the wallet is Chad
Kitchenessky.
Sunday at 11 a.m. Officer Jason Crants received a
complaint about a dog running loose on Katherine Street. The dog was not at the
complainant’s place at the time. Crants referred the caller to the dog warden.
At 1:36 p.m. Crants received another
complaint from the Katherine Street resident concerning the dog, which was
loose in behavior as well as its unleashed status, having mated with the
complainant’s dog. The caller was referred to the state dog warden, and the
SPCA was contacted to pick up the dog running at large. The dog owner was
notified and was said to be out of town.
