County Water Conservation

When this was the McKean County Farm, there might have been a rain barrel under the eaves. Now roof water is drained into a cistern system at the Green Growing Gardens project. A hose draws off the water. Some is used in the laundry tubs, in the foreground, a water and washing station used by the workers. In the background are the brick buildings of the former county home, now home to several county agencies. Atop the barn is a modern communications tower.  Martha Knight Photo
