Beverly J. Wendt Miller, Former Tastee Freez Owner
Beverly J. Wendt Miller, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, 2014 in Sarasota, FL.
Born on October 17, 1923 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of Barney E. and Florida C. Weimer (Weimer’s Dairy).
She lived in Niagara Falls, NY and Port Allegany, PA before retiring to Florida in 1975.
She was married to Herbert G. Wendt and William Miller who both preceded her in death.
Beverly enjoyed her various roles in retail sales, food service, and childcare. She owned and operated the family Tastee Freez on Main Street in Port Allegany for approximately twelve years.
She was a Past Matron for the Order of Eastern Star in Port Allegany and was a member of Saint James Methodist Church in Sarasota, FL. Throughout her life, she enjoyed volunteering at the Port Allegany Hospital and later years at various organizations in Sarasota, Florida. She cherished and will be remembered for her love of family, friends, children, and animals
She is survived by her daughters, Claudia W. Finlay (Robert) of Center Barnstead, NH, Shelley A. Booth (Herbert) of Sarasota, FL , and grandson, Ian T. Booth of Tampa, FL.
There will be a private family burial for the celebration of her life. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
