Jim Gordon's beautifully restored McCormick-Deering Farmall parades at
the Allegheny Mountain Engine and Implement Association show Saturday, with Gordon in the saddle.
The 1909 Eclipse steam engine owned by Gene Supplee of Coudersport chugged around and around at the engine show Saturday, occasionally letting off steam with an impressive whistle. At one time it powered a sawmill. It can draw heavy machinery and wagons--and crowds. And, of course, it runs efficiently, on coal and water. Zachary Barnett, facing camera, enjoyed demonstrating it and telling youngsters about it.
Some people grow plants in tires, or old bathtubs or washing machines or commodes. But at the Allegheny Mountain Engine and Implement Association grounds posies flourish in, what else, a tractor.
