Rotary Report

The Port Allegany Rotary Club welcomed the McKean County Fair Contestants including Abby Price, Miss Smethport; Kortney Regis, Miss Otto-Eldred, Sarah Eaton Miss Bradford; 2013-2014 McKean County Fair Queen Emily Housler of Smethport; Bettina Cherry, Miss Kane and Hannah Ernst, Miss Port Allegany.  The queen contestants spoke about the 2014 Fair which opens Saturday, August 9 with Food Pantry Day; Sunday is Agriculture Day, Monday is SPCA Day, Tuesday is Energy Day, Wednesday is Veterans Day, Thursday is Senior Citizen's Day, Friday is Farm and Vehicle Safety Day and Saturday is Fire Prevention Day.  The Queen Coronation Contest will take place at 8 p.m. on the Mini Stage.  Other guests included Exchange Student Helene Winter.  Helene attended her last Rotary meeting before returning to her homeland of Germany.  Also in attendance was Helene's host sister, Mikya Stake.  The two are pictured following the meeting.  There were 15 Rotarians present for a reportable attendance of 60 percent.  The club plans to serve ice cream at the second annual Fair On the Square.  Winner of the 50/50 was Jason Stake/Mikya Stake.  Pam Fischer Photos
