Marian M.
Eicher, 95, of Vine St., formerly of Elm St., passed away Saturday (July 5,
2014) peacefully at home.
Born
September 26, 1918, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Albert E. and
Christine Johnson Anderson. On June 7, 1941, in Port Allegany, she
married James E. Eicher, who died Feb. 2, 2005.
Marian was
a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of Port Allegany High School,
Class of 1936, and also from the Westbrook Academy, Olean, NY.
Mrs. Eicher
had worked for North Penn Gas Co. as an accounting
assist.
She was a
member of the former Evangelical United Methodist Church and currently a member
of the Sartwell Creek Union Church, Burtville. She was a member of
the American Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving
are a daughter, Karen E. (Butch) Bowers of Port Allegany, two sons, Alan D.
(Janice) Eicher of Queensbury, NY, Richard J. (Cheryl) Eicher of Lake
Frederick, VA; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law,
Charles Smith of York, PA, and several nieces and nephews.
She was
preceded in death by her parents, husband James, a brother, H. Rudy Anderson
and three sisters, Edna Smith, Emily Maddux, and Mildred Ferris.
Friends
will be received from 11 to 1 p.m. Wednesday (July 9, 2014) in the Switzer
Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
with Rev. LaVerne Howard, pastor of the Sartwell Creek Union Church,
officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
Memorials
can be made to the Sartwell Creek Union Church, S.W. Smith Library, or Potter
County Hospice.
