The rest of a customer’s laundry went
to join the errant sock, at the Lost Sock Laundromat. A bike was stolen, along
with the 40 Oxycodone in a bottle without owner’s name. A delivery truck didn’t
get under the overhang at Dollar General, and damaged it.
Port Allegany Police dealt with those
and numerous other matters in the week that began Monday, April 28.
Last Monday at 9 a.m. Chief Dave
Distrola was requested by the Bradford Police Department to fingerprint a
defendant and forward the prints to the central repository.
Last Tuesday at 12:20 p.m. Distrola was
dispatched to the Dollar General where a tractor-trailer had backed into the
overhang of the building and damaged the gutter and roofing. The operator’s
information was obtained and supplied to the building owner.
At 4:40 p.m. Officer Tony Tanner
fingerprinted someone as requested by the Bradford Police Department.
At 5:34 p.m. Tanner received a
complaint that a man was walking along Main Street with an exposed knife.
Tanner spoke with the subject, who said he had just purchased the knife and did
not have a sheath. Tanner asked him to keep the knife covered so as not to
alarm others.
Last Wednesday at 8 a.m. Distrola made
contact with a Johnsonburg resident who was calling and harassing a Port
Allegany resident. The subject said he would not call again, but had been
calling because he was upset over a deal in which he felt he had been ripped
off in an arrangement to have his car restored.
Thursday at 1:30 a.m. Tanner saw where
a person had run over the street sign at the corner of Pearl Street and West
Mill Street.
At 10 a.m. Distrola unlocked a car on
Penny Lane.
At 12:02 p.m. Distrola unlocked another
car, this one at Schott Eye Care.
At1:46 p.m. Distrola received a
registration plate that had been found on Brooklynside Bridge. He contacted the
owner about the find.
At 3:20 p.m. Distrola received a report
that a bike had been stolen at noon from where it had been parked beside the
station while the bike’s owner was using the facilities. Gone with the bike,
the complainant said, were 40 Oxycodone pills in a container without his name
on it; they had been in a satchel under the seat, according to the complaint.
The bike was described as a Schwinn 26-inch, 18-speed mode, grey in color.
Friday at 10 a.m. Distrola was stopped
by the bike owner and asked for an incident report to give to the complainant’s
doctor, so he could get a refill of his prescription. Distrola told him the
department does not provide incident reports for lost or stolen medication.
At 1:30 p.m. Distrola received a report
of laundry having been stolen from the Lost Sock Laundry on Mill Street. The
caller said the laundry had been done on Monday, but when the owner of the
laundry went to retrieve it on Wednesday it was gone.
At 4:14 p.m. Officer Adam Dickerson
received a complaint from a tenant of Page Place on Arnold Avenue. The caller
said someone other than a tenant had parked a vehicle in the parking area.
Dickerson found that the vehicle belonged to someone visiting a parent who is a
resident of Page Place.
At 10:45 when Dickerson was in the West
Mill Street area he heard voiced raised in anger and stopped at the residence
in question. The residents seemed to be intoxicated and arguing. Dickerson
advised both parties to refrain from further yelling or they would receive
citations.
Saturday at 12:09 p.m. Officer Jason
Crants responded to an alarm at J&J Auto Repair. It was a false activation.
At 4 p.m. Crants received a complaint
about a barking dog next to 87 Church Street. The caller said the dog owner was
not at home, and the dog had barked incessantly through the night. Crants told
the complainant an officer would try to contact the dog owner later in the
evening when the owner came home. Crants told the complainant to update the
report, if the problem persists.
Sunday at 11:56 a.m. Crants received a
report of someone driving erratically toward Port Allegany from the Eldred
area. He was unable to locate the vehicle described. Pennsylvania State Police
said the vehicle was a red Nissan Pathfinder bearing a Florida registration
plate.
Monday at 1 a.m. Dickerson received a
complaint of an unlawful entry at a Penny Lane residence. The complainant was
said to have left earlier, possibly locking the door, then returned to find
clothing and other possessions strewn about. Nothing was reported to be missing.
