Busy as a Bee

A honeybee busily gathers pollen from azalia blossoms on several weekends ago, not observing a day of rest. Honeybees are a welcome sight, having been fewer in recent years due to disease, pesticides and parasites. This one shared the azalia with some bumblebees--only fair, what with those friendly Apidae having handled most pollinating for a while.  Martha Knight Photo
