Police Report 3/24 - 3/30

A custody dispute led to possible trespass charges against one parent. A Chihuahua was missing from one home, a stray juvenile was found in another. Someone had gone spotlighting in the PC parking lot.

These were some of the incidents that required Port Allegany Police attention the week that began Monday, March 24.

Last Monday at 3:30 p.m. Chief Dave Distrola received a report of a possible overdose of Tylenol. The report originated from Texas. The matter was referred to Pennsylvania State Police because the subject lives on Two Mile Road.

Last Tuesday at 11:15 a.m. Distrola responded to a report of a 911 hang-up at the Port Allegany Health Center. He learned that the staff there were not sure why the call was made, and that there was no emergency requiring 911 action.

At 1:34 p.m. Distrola received a report from a Turtlepoint resident of an unauthorized charge on a debit card. The matter was referred to the bank’s security department.

Last Wednesday at 9:31 a.m. Distrola was informed that a vehicle was being towed from the private parking lot of Schott Law Office. The caller provided the plate number of the vehicle, in case the vehicle owner called the police department.

At 3:38 p.m. Distrola received a call about an ongoing custody dispute. The caller said the father was in violation of the custody order in that the child had been left with the father’s girlfriend while the father was at work. The mother wanted the child with her. The caller was told to seek legal advice.

At 3:45 p.m. Distrola received a call from Lena Kittilson stating that a Chihuahua was missing from 88 Pearl Street. The caller was told to check with the SPCA, and that police would contact her if anyone called to report finding or recovering the dog.

At 4:50 p.m. Officer Tony Tanner received a complaint from Keiya Hill in connection with the custody matter that had been brought to police attention earlier. She said Amber Stuckey had come to her residence and wanted to take the child, whose father is Gavin Rupert. Hill said the custody order would prohibit Stuckey from taking the child. Hill alleged that Stuckey stuck her foot in the door jamb to keep Hill from closing the door. Trespass charges may be pending against Stuckey.

At 5:15 p.m. Tanner received a complaint of property damage at 211 North Main Street. A tenant was moving out and inadvertently had backed into a retaining wall, causing damage. Tanner obtained insurance information and will forward it to the property owner.

At 8:03 Tanner assisted a motorist with a vehicle lockout at a North Main Street address.

Thursday at 12:49 a.m. Tanner discovered a vehicle with a door open on Park Lane Drive. He found the owner and the vehicle was secured.

At 9 a.m. Chief Distrola fingerprinted a defendant in response to an order from a magisterial district justice.

At 9:30 a.m. Distrola assisted a motorist with a vehicle lockout at Sheetz.

At 10:20 a.m. Distrola received a report that a suspicious vehicle had been in the Pittsburgh Corning parking lot the previous evening, and that an occupant or occupants had been shining a spotlight on buildings and vehicles. The call was logged and the night shift was made aware of the incident. Patrols will increase in the area.

At 4:55 p.m. Tanner assisted the ambulance staff with a maternity call on Willow Street.

Friday at 3:30 p.m. Distrola received a complaint of two forged checks being cashed at the First National Bank of Port Allegany branch bank. The incident is under investigation pending receipt of video footage from the bank.

At 5:44 p.m. Tanner was requested by PSP to check 310 North Main Street for the presence of a runaway male juvenile. The juvenile was found and detained for PSP, who picked him up.

At 11:30 p.m. Tanner received a report of Facebook harassment. The person making the report wanted the incident logged in case the alleged harassment is repeated.

Saturday at 2:20 a.m. Tanner observed a possible act of criminal mischief, in which someone punched a glass door on the Grand Theater building, with the potential of damaging the glass.

At 6:30 p.m. Tanner reported on his follow-up of the incident at the Old Theater building. The property owner said the door was not damaged, so no charges will be filed.

Sunday at 12:05 a.m. Tanner received a complaint from a Johnsonburg resident about a local resident said to be in violation of his parole. Tanner provided the complainant with information from the parole officer.
