The week started off with a bang for
motor vehicle crash drivers and passengers, and for Port Allegany Police as
well, on Monday, March 17. As the week continued, there were a reciprocal
domestic assault, a concern about possible squatters, a noisy party and various
other matters for law enforcers to deal with.
At 5:40 p.m. last Monday a 2007 GMC
Envoy, driven by Marilyn Anderson, 82, of 144 Skinner Creek Road, turned left
into the oncoming lane at the Main-Mill intersection, and collided head-on with
a Lincoln MKX driven by Sandra Keppel, 54, of 515 East Main Street, Smethport.
Anderson had entered the left turn lane of South Main Street heading onto West
Mill Street, and turned into the path of Keppel, who was traveling south on
North Main Street.
Anderson was transported to a hospital
for an unknown injury. Keppel and a passenger, Eli Ulysses, 23, also were
transported. Keppel’s other three passengers did not request care. The vehicles
were towed. Officer Adam Dickerson handled the incident and investigation.
Last Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. police
presence was requested at a Chestnut Street address. Officer Tony Tanner
responded, assisting a McKean County Children and Youth Services staff member
with an interview and escorting an adult from the room.
Last Wednesday at noon Chief Dave
Distrola issued a vending permit to 5 Star Steak and Seafood.
Thursday at 6:37
p.m. Tanner responded to a Roper Road
location for a report of a domestic conflict. He found that a male resident was
retrieving property to leave. That individual left and no further incidents
were reported.
Friday at 3:13
a.m. Tanner was dispatched to West Vine
Street for a noise complaint. A resident at the end of the street was having a
party, and this was said to be disturbing the neighborhood. The officer advised
the property owner that further complaints would result in citations.
At 3:25 p.m. Officer Kyle Day was
dispatched to 87 South Main Street for a report of a possible trespass. He did
not observe any indication that someone was living in the vacant rental
property. Day told the property owner that following police shifts would
provide periodic checks on the location.
Saturday at 7:26
p.m. Officer Colin Strawcutter went to 556
East Mill Street in response to a report of a domestic assault. He arrested
Monica Musser of Roulette for assaulting Doug Smith of the East Mill Street
address. Musser was charged with simple assault and harassment for allegedly
giving Smith a bloody nose. Further investigation revealed that Musser also had
received injuries, and Smith will be charged with simple assault and
harassment.
At 8:30 p.m. Strawcutter arrested
Jessica Pesco as a result of a traffic stop. Pesco was found to be the subject
of an arrest warrant out of Coudersport. Pesco was transported to McKean County
Jail.
Sunday at 5 p.m. Officer Day was
requested to stop an erratic driver who was traveling into town from the
direction of Smethport. The driver was stopped and held for Pennsylvania State
Police. Later she was released.
At 5:40 p.m. Day received a complaint
of harassment by communication. He was unable to locate the alleged sender of
unwanted texts to a South Main Street resident.
