J. Susan Minard, PAHS Class of 1964

J. Susan Minard, 67, of Looker Mountain Trail, passed away Thursday (Apr. 3, 2014) in the Olean General Hospital.
    

Born January 8, 1947, in Port Allegany, she was a daughter of Douglas A. and Miriam N. Kephart Goodrich.  On June 11, 1966, in Port Allegany, she married James L. Minard, Sr., who died Aug. 16, 2013. They were married 47 years.
    

Susan had worked at the Arnot Day Care, Port Allegany, for several years, and also did embroidery work with Team Minard of Bradford, before her retirement.
    

She was a lifetime resident of the area and a graduate of the Port Allegany High School, Class of 1964.
    

Mrs. Minard was an active member of the Rixford Evangelical Church.  She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting as well.
    

Surviving are a son, James L. (Jennifer) Minard, II of Rixford; three daughters, Kimberly L. (Brian) Bond of Bradford, Lisa K. (Bear) Weimer of Galeton, and Carrie S. (Jayson) Przybyla of Roulette; 8 grandchildren, a brother, Douglas A. (Lori) Goodrich, Jr. of Port Allegany; a sister, Sandy (Ray) Pockalny of Carmel, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
    

She was preceded in death by her parents, and husband James.
    

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Apr. 7, 2014) with Rev. Norman Cox, pastor of the Rixford Evangelical Church, officiating. Burial will be in Annin Creek Cemetery, Turtlepoint.  
    

Memorials can be made to the Rixford Evangelical Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
