Logan Hutton and Emily Gordon have qualified for the Pennsylvania
Music Educators Association 2014 All-State Chorus. Logan is the son of
Rick and Meg Hutton. He is a senior at Port Allegany High School where
he is active in both instrumental and vocal music (Jazz Band, Concert
Band, Marching Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Show Choir, and
musical theatre productions). Additionally, Logan has represented PAHS
at District Choir, Regional Choir, District Band, and Regional Band. He
is a member of the National Honor Society and has participated in
soccer, basketball, and track. Emily is the daughter of Roger and
Chrystall Gordon of Turtlepoint. She is a senior at PAHS where she is
active in both instrumental and vocal music (Jazz Band, Concert Band,
Marching Band, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Show Choir, and musical
theatre productions). Additionally, Emily has represented PAHS at
District Choir, Regional Choir, and District Jazz Band. She is a member
of the National Honor Society and has served as Secretary of the PAHS
Concert Choir.
Students are selected through a series of rigorous
auditions at the district and regional level festivals held in January
and February and will attend the all-state festival from March 26 -29.
The PMEA All-State Chorus runs concurrently with the PMEA State
Conference for Music Educators which is held in Hershey, PA. The honors
choir will be under the direction of Dr. Andrew Clark, Director of
Choral Activities at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
After three days of intense rehearsal on music prepared before their
arrival at the festival, the singers will present a concert featuring
both the 2014 All-State Chorus and the 2014 All-State Wind Ensemble.
This event will be held at The Forum, 500 Walnut St., Harrisburg, PA on
