Doubts concerning the feasibility of
enforcing parking restrictions at Maple Commons were assuaged last Tuesday,
with the assistance of a complainant; two men and two women were fighting at
Sheetz; a sex offender moved after neighborhood notifications were delivered,
and he was arrested for non-registration; someone was accused of striking a
neighbor and his tractor over a snow plowing issue.
These and other matters kept Port
Allegany Police busy in the week that began Monday, February 3.
Last Monday at 5:20

juvenile from Bradford who was reported as a runaway. The juvenile was detained
and then released to McKean County Children and Youth Services.

Distrola was asked to assist Pennsylvania State Police with a traffic stop on
Route 6 East near Fessenden Road. The trooper requested transport of a juvenile
who was a passenger in a vehicle driven by a suspected DUI offender.
At 3:30 p.m. Distrola received a
complaint that a vehicle without handicap qualification was parked in a parking
spot reserved for handicapped parking, at Maple Commons. The vehicle owner was
cited.
Last Wednesday Distrola received a
request from PSP to check the status of a registered sex offender at 88 Church
Street. The information received from the occupant was that Charles Kontz had
moved from the residence shortly after neighborhood notifications had been
delivered by local police in late January. Soon after local police supplied the
latest information, PSP arrested Kontz for failure to register his new address.
At 5 p.m. Dickerson went to Sheetz to help a
motorist with a vehicle lock-out problem.
At 7:30 p.m. Dickerson was dispatched

that the child fell and struck a coffee table.
Thursday at 8
p.m. Officer Kyle Day was dispatched to a
Pine Street address for a neighbor dispute about one neighbor’s dog getting
into the other’s garbage. The dog owner was asked to shorten the dog’s leash.
Friday at 11:20
a.m. Distrola was informed that Attorney
General agents were executing a search warrant at a Chestnut Street residence.
The reported results were that the search did not turn up evidence of child
porn, and that the issue concerns a dead case.
Sunday at 2:22 Officer Jason Crants was dispatched to
Sheetz where a fight was reported to be in progress. He found that Ken Lannager
and Michael Carinci were involved in a physical altercation. Also, Tiffany
Yentzer and Brittany Green were involved in a physical altercation.
Investigation is continuing, and charges may result.
At 9:20 a.m. Officer William Wenzel
received a complaint of criminal mischief and theft that had occurred sometime
in the previous night at the Lost Sock laundry. Perpetrators had smashed the
glass of a vending machine in the laundry shop and had removed various items
from the machine. Photos of the suspects were captured via the surveillance
video. Investigation is ongoing.
At 4:57 p.m. Officer Crants received a
complaint of harassment/disorderly conduct that had occurred at 511—513 East
Mill Street. John Piechocki of 513 East Mill Street was cited for allegedly
punching William Potter of Chicago Avenue in the shoulder and damaging a light
on Potter’s John Deere tractor. The incident was said to have been related to
Potter having plowed snow into Piechocki’s driveway.
