Hardes resigns from Port A. school board / By Martha Knight

PORT ALLEGANY—Gary A. Hardes, one of the longest serving school board members in the area, has tendered his resignation, according to superintendent Gary Buchsen.

The resignation will be acted upon at the board meeting Monday night. Buchsen pointed out that the board will have 30 days to fill the vacancy. He anticipates that the board will invite school district residents interested in being appointed to express their interest soon.

Buchsen said it is likely that the board will fill the vacancy at its January 27 meeting.

Also at the meeting this Monday night, there will be a presentation concerning approaches to improving the school districts website.

The board meeting will be at 7 p.m., in the large group instruction room in the elementary school.
