An outside control device that regulates one of
Verallia/Saint-Gobain’s gas supply lines froze in sub-zero temperatures around 9
a.m. Tuesday. However, an alternate supply kicked in automatically, and
production continued without interruption.
An area employee was dispatched to handle the matter, and he
thawed the device in short order.
Rumors had circulated in the community about a “gas line
rupture” and possibilities of homes being without heat. No rupture had
occurred, though, and only Verallia was affected.
