Southern Tier Symphony to present 'Winter Prelude' in Sunday concert



BRADFORD, PA – The Southern Tier Symphony will perform “Winter Prelude,” featuring selections from Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker Suite,” at 3 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Bromeley Family Theater of Blaisdell Hall at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford.

Tickets for the event are $20 for the public and free for all students.

Other selections are “Sleigh Ride,” “O Holy Night,” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” and “Little Drummer Boy.”

The symphony is directed by John Whitney, who has led orchestras on three continents, including those in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Venezuela. He has performed with or conducted a host of platinum artists, including Luciano Pavarotti, Tony Bennett, Ray Charles, Henry Mancini, Cab Calloway, Liberace and Doc Severinsen.
